Anthony Brown, 31, of Hempstead, was arrested for an assault that took place on Sunday, July 14, 2019, in Lakeview, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, the male victim, 34, was standing outside of a Nissan having a conversation with the occupants.
That's when Brown allegedly approached the victim from behind and struck him with an unknown object, police said.
The victim suffered a fractured skull, brain trauma and was transported to an area hospital.
Brown fled the scene.
Police located Brown who was charged with assault. He is scheduled to be arraigned at a later date.
